Electric outboard motor mounted on a small boat beside a wooden jetty

E-Propulsion

Silent, clean thrust for fishing boats, ferries and workboats.

HILMIL electric tiller outboard powering a small fishing boat

Three ways to move a boat.

Every system uses a sealed PMSM motor with FOC control for instant, precise thrust and no exhaust, and each connects directly to our packs and telematics.

Traditional long-tail boats anchored in clear sea water

Long-tail outboard motors.

The long-tail boat is the workhorse of rivers and coasts from Thailand to Vietnam, Indonesia and the Philippines. Our electric long-tail keeps the format crews already know, with the long shaft, shallow-water reach and simple steering, and replaces the petrol engine with a sealed PMSM and FOC controller. There is no fuel to carry, far less maintenance, and the boat is quiet enough to hear the water.

Electric outboard motor on a workboat at a tropical jetty

Z-type outboard with two-speed gear.

A steerable, tilting drive leg with a PMSM, FOC controller and integrated two-speed gearbox. Low gear delivers thrust for heavy loads, towing and manoeuvring in harbour; high gear delivers efficient cruising on open water. It suits small ferries, patrol craft and utility boats.

Electric motor coupled directly to a propeller shaft in an engine room

Direct-drive propulsion.

For inboard installations on ferries and larger vessels, the motor couples straight to the propeller shaft. With no gearbox there are fewer moving parts, lower losses, less maintenance and very high reliability over long service hours.
